Hi I'm Robin. I began sewing when l was 12 years old. My mother got me a sewing machine for Christmas that year. I had NO idea what to do, so l started small....Barbies of course. I went from simple skirts to tops and dresses. I wish l still had those things. Later as a mother, l began sewing for my family. Christmas and Easter were full on matching clothes for church...YES EVERYBODY. The material that l made the dresses out of was turned into cummerbunds for the boys. People in church were noticing my work and began asking me to sew for them. I did so many things...a doctor's office with a big Santa and a suit, weddings, and l even got a college scholarship with the drama department sewing for the theater. It's been a fun winding road. Eventually l finished my degrees and went into teaching mathematics so sewing got put on the back burner. Once COVID hit us, 23 years later, l retired and find myself back to sewing but now l use it as therapy since my daughter's death. I put away my sewing machine, sit back with a needle and a glass of wine, tv on and just create. It really makes me happy, and l love looking at my creations around my home.
