This Emerald Beauty somewhat cracks me up. Every once in a while I will order a bag of scraps. I usually get pretty lucky and get some good pieces to make, maybe, hats or scarves from. This one was a bag of greens. I sat sipping my coffee one morning, ready to start my sweet candy one, when I got this fantastic idea of what I could do with all of those greens. This is the result and I just love her. The reason I laugh is because she was so unplanned and finished within a few hours. I started with the front panel after sequin and beading the green and white ribbon. I then stitched it straight down the front. After that I gathered the green velvet and attached it to make a fuller skirt on the back. The back bodice is just a small piece of sparkling stretchy green something (lol) that played nicely on the back. I attached a flower to the side (I ordered a green flower and am still waiting to replace it). I guess an artists work is never complete really - HAHA. I added a jewel neckline and attached it to the bodice and topped off her updo with a green flower hat - all from the same scrap bag. I am just so tickled with her.
