Well it's about time, I made one with MY favorite color. Yellow has always been my favorite - it's the most necessary in my eyes. You cannot have a complete pallet without it. Oranges, Corals and other fire colors follow for me. In fact, once some items come in, I will be making a coral one. My desire is to have many arrays of colors and designs where not one of them looks like the other. This beautiful angel didn't come together right away. I wasn't even sure how she would look, and I had no picture in my mind. I started beading a small piece of fabric with long white glass beads and tiny silver ones in between. I planned on beading the whole piece of fabric, but decided I looked how it looked with the 3 simple curved rows of beads. You really can't see much behind the yellow flower , but it also has a slight row of yellow sequins - such a pretty touch.
I then added a few layers of yellow tulle as the underskirt - I knew I wanted big as I usually do. You can tell ball gowns are my favorite. I then made a top layer to the skirt using the same fabric as the bodice and then simply laid to layers of the underskirt tulle. I want the fabric to show. I usually do the hair up first because it gets in the way, but I wanted to see the dress before I chose a hairstyle. I have been waiting on a flowery sheer piece of fabric, but I got tired of waiting so I placed little wire flowers all over the top tulle layer. I actually like it better. A nice little flowery piece of ribbon is around her waist.
The butterfly wings or angle wings and train were an afterthought. I had this beautiful piece of soft yellow tulle with embroidered dots on it and thought I would like to do something with and the idea just happened. I attached the shoulders and hat the hat looking piece that I put over heard at first. She looked like a bride and I didn't want that. So I gathered it the way it is shown and attached a flower to it and VOILA - wings! I am now on to my next one - OHHHH the colors and theme!!!!
