Metallic Ocean

Oh this beautiful girl. One of the hardest I have ever made. The material is so fragile and frays on touch. I decided to do the pleats because it helped to secure the fabric. The "swoop" on the left side was actually an accident - LOL- because I had so much leftover from the pleated section. Instead of cutting it off, I gathered it in and attached it to give this really cool elegant look-almost like an ocean wave; hence, her name, Metallic Ocean. I had to very carefully hem it so it didn't fray down to nothing by handling it. She took me several weeks because I didn't want to rush her. And OH that hair - gloriously long, red and shiny made up into "swoops" - like the dress. The inspiration for this one came on the sight of the fabric - I could instantly see elegance and began.
