Royal Confetti

Updated: May 5, 2022

This royal beauty is a true piece of my heart. Back in September, when my daughter passed, her husband wasn't being very fair. With COVID still rampant, I was not able to get to her. HE did nothing to have her shown. She was still in her hospital gown and her hair was a mess. I had never been so disappointed but WAS glad that her ex-husband was able to take me in via Zoom, so I could say a menial goodbye and blow her a kiss. Days later, I asked about her ashes and he told me that she was "his wife" - that if I sent him a necklace he would fill it and send it to me. That was not sufficient for me. I wanted to make small urns and necklaces for her bother and sisters along with myself. To shorten this up some, her best friend played 007 and kidnapped them for me and sent me the ashes. I am forever grateful to this young lady. FOREVER!

This royal queen was made for her. The color is her AND my daughters favorite color. The fabric is one solid piece that faded from a darker purple to a lighter. The skirt is the darker whereas the bodice translates into the lighter. The underskirt is, of course, tulle with a beautiful piece of purple and gold flower lace around it. It is also lined with purple appliqued and beaded lace. The colors are purple and gold everything. The waistline is sequined and beaded with the purple and gold also. I got the idea for a drape and searched out some faux fur to line with the purple fabric. I think it turned out fabulous. I then found some purple and gold earrings as well as I beaded a necklace to finish her off. The hair turned out amazing. As I write this, she hasn't even received it yet - I sent it yesterday.

UPDATE - She received it and she is beautifully displayed in her forever home!
